Nature - Our Story
Our story is bound with our shifting relationship with Nature. Nearly 15 years ago, a chance event set us on a new course with a burgeoning curiosity for the natural world as our guide. The things we discovered along the way prompted a total change in who we were and the things we thought were important. We had not been looking for one, but an epiphany found us.
At first, we became naturalists, but soon field guides and scientific names failed to teach us what we wanted to know about Nature; there was more to learn by watching, listening and simply being. Over time we came to understand Nature as the invisible force that flows through all things. Enamoured with stories of interconnection and relationships between wild things and wild places, we found joy and peace as we peeled back ever-increasing layers of awe and wonder.
Nature permeated into each and every facet of first life, then work and the two became entangled as we figured out ways of making time spent outdoors a priority. It has not always been easy, but eventually we built a way of doing things that made Nature central to who we are and what we do, rejecting the status quo and striving for (but not always achieving) a simple, wilder way of living.
Ever since, we have been spreading the word that a re-thinking of our relationship with Nature has not only huge potential for improving our individual sense of wellbeing, but is also vital for the future of our extraordinarily beautiful, living planet.
Now we work outside on the land several days a week and share our experiences with Nature through speaking, writing, teaching and photography.
