Adventure
What does it mean to live adventurously? It doesn’t have to be week-long expeditions, or summit bids; adventures both big and small have the power to be transformative.
Miscellaneous Adventures was born on a five day journey on foot through the arctic wilderness, but grew through our experiences with Nature in the woods around our home.
In 2021 we moved north to the Lake District to make adventures easier to come by and we haven’t looked back. Our focus is on slow adventure; making time for moments of reflection; learning about the landscape; noticing connections in Nature and soaking it all in. A stark contrast to the ‘go further, faster, lighter’ messaging of the outdoor industry.
Many of our hiking adventures are with our young son Benji. We knew we didn’t want to stop having adventures when Benji was born, if anything we wanted more than ever to live adventurously, to raise a child full of confidence who felt at home in the great outdoors. It has not always been easy, but from day one he has joined us on long distance hikes, wild camping trips and day hikes in the mountains and we continue to hike together as a small family here in the Lake District and beyond.
We love sharing our adventures and encounters with Nature along the way. You can follow along on our Instagram, and our weekly The Misc. Adventures Digest.
