Fjällräven x Kendal Mountain Festival

Us on stage talking about Slow Adventure. Photo by Jumpy James www.jumpyjames.co.uk

Last year was our first visit to Kendal Mountain Festival - we have wanted to go for years but the distance from home always put us off. Now living just over an hour away we had no excuse, and besides we were gifted some tickets to Fjällräven’s Slow Adventure Session which was right up our street.

Fast forward to 2024 and it was our turn to be on stage, talking about Slow Adventure and Nature connection for that very same event. KMF can be a hectic experience; there’s so much going on and so many people that we want to meet and catch up with, it really feels like the main event of the year for anyone involved in the realm of outdoor pursuits. What better place to speak about slowing down and being present in the moment?

It was a joy to be part of the event. The benefits of slowing down and taking to time to connect deeply with Nature is something we’re passionate about so it was a real privilege to share our story and experiences with the sold out crowd. We spoke about the lack of focus on Nature connection in the outdoor industry, the commodification of mountains and of slowing down as an act of resistance.

We were joined on stage by the best selling author, Carl Honoré who is a heavyweight in the world of slow living, carpenter (and friend) Ted Carefoot who spoke about his fascinating 2 year stint as a travelling journeyman and Becky Finch who shared her experiences of the Fjällräven Polar event.

As part of our talk, we also made a short film which you can watch here:

Sharing our story and thoughts on slow adventures and what it means to be deeply connected to Nature is something we love doing and would like to do more of - if you would like us to speak at an event then please do drop us a line.

With massive thanks to Fjällräven for inviting us to speak and to all those who asked questions and offered positive feedback - we’re thankful for all the kind words and support!
